Welcome...Brian Bagnall!
Hello Brian, welcome to the team! We'd like to introduce you to everyone and show them what a great Purple person you are.
First, can you tell us about your background?
Thank you! It’s definitely the start of an exciting chapter for all of us! My experience is pretty varied across the world of hospitality and retail. From pub groups and holiday parks, to motorway services and family brewers, I have loved leading teams and working with businesses to deliver commercial success. Alongside Purple Story, I’m currently also a Non-Executive Director at pub retailer and family brewer, Hydes.
And what will your role as Non-Executive Chairman at Purple Story involve?
Having worked with Karen previously and having watched the amazing creation and growth of Purple Story so far, I was delighted and honoured to be invited by Karen and Lynda to become Chairman. I’m here to support them and the team with strong entrepreneurial leadership and innovative solutions. This means being a sounding board for Karen and Lynda to help them develop their own roles further, whilst also bringing an outside perspective and challenging them where I can. I’ll help review the company’s performance and ensure we are delivering to our fantastic clients. All this, whilst not forgetting to have some fun!
What makes Purple Story different?
The innovative person-centric approach that Purple Story brings to its clients is fantastic and a joy to see. Having worked across retail and hospitality businesses for many years I have seen first-hand the difference and impact that the Purple Storytellers have with the teams they engage with.
The people who are touched by the Purple magic are the future leaders who in turn will help to develop the future leaders of businesses. When we set them up for success, the future looks Purple for all of us!
Finally, what do you hope for the future will bring for Purple Story?
Digital will be huge for Purple Story. We have masses of content which can help more and more businesses drive impactful change through their teams in a way which best suits their people.
We are extremely fortunate to have a great client base who see the value that a collaborative partnership can bring, and that it sets them apart from their competitors.
Key to this is driving profit for those companies - by helping them to be future fit through engaged teams and truly fun places to work.
Thanks to the fact the business is extremely agile, we can tailor activity to tackle the specific challenges our clients are facing, no matter what comes their way. And that’s a pretty exciting place to be, now and in the future!
